TO DO!
INDOORS
And that's just the outdoors. Indoors we have 6/7 bedrooms on three floors, and every bedroom has a view of water or pool. The four bedrooms on the 2nd floor all have TVs. There are literally five separate living/rec rooms to entertain or get away from the family or group. Most of them overlook the waterfront. It has a huge dining area and open kitchen; the main room downstairs is almost 1,000sf of open space! But it remains cozy. The second floor has four bedrooms and laundry. The third has two bedrooms and large rec room with foosball, ping pong and a TV area. When kids are present it's the ideal floor for them to "own". It's even sound-insulated (we did that for our three kids ;) Our guests often tell us their activities at the house were the main benefit of their trip.
PLANNING FOR FUN
Recreation is the one thing we have plenty-of. Planning to fish, charter a captained boat or rent a boat or watersports equipment? We'll help. Planning to play golf? Make tee times at the fabulous Hyatt course just 15 minutes away - or one of the 20 great courses within an hour's drive. Not to mention the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge is just 15 minutes from your door. The list is long!
Restaurants:
Downtown Cambridge just 10 minutes away boasts over a dozen great spots for adults and families. Easton? 30 minutes and 50 more great spots both towns boasting several waterfront places to dine. We have a great restaurant guide for you. Cambridge and the close-in area have so many, but nearby towns make the list way longer than you can choose from.
Shopping:
Food, artisan items, antiques and Chesapeake items are all available in town or in the nearby towns including St. Michaels we have a guide for that as well. Our produce stores are much more than that and our guests love them.
Tourism:
Cambridge is famous for a great gentrifying pre-civil war downtown, the Harriet Tubman Visitor Center and Museum, Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and more. Season starts in Spring and there are downtown events including sailing trips and farmers markets every week. The area includes fishing villages out of a Herman Melville novel, and towns like Oxford, Easton and St. Michaels to keep you busy with history, food and shopping. And the ocean beaches are just an hour away!
