The 55 acre farm consist of Main House, detached Cottage and a large 1-bedroom cottage, overlooking the little valley in which the farm is located. This rental is for the house. Elkton has a wonderful small-town atmosphere. There are only 3 other farms on the Paradise road, which disappears up into the forest and wildlife-filled mountains. Elkton is a small, historical town, overlooking the beautiful Umpqua River and nestled in Oregon's coastal mountains. Pastured valleys, rolling hills, vineyards and Douglas fir forests surround the city. This is a very unique piece of property with 55 acres, 35 mountains/timber, around 14 -18 pasture fertile Roseburg Loam and plentiful water, over a mile of Paradise Creek where Coho and Chinook spawn, 200 foot-long private park along Umpqua River with boat ramp. The ramp also leads to beach sand-like sandbars for summer tanning and swimming. A very good value for your money! Eugene, home to University of Oregon, is only about an hour away. Reedsport, and some very tasty oysters, beautiful sand dunes, and other coastal delights, are about 30 minutes away. There are 3 local wineries and many organic farms in the area, along with weekly Farmers Markets. Highway 38 is a designated Oregon Scenic Highway. The deck overlooks the 55 acres of pasture, creek, and trees on the mountainside. The farm includes a 200 foot park along the Umpqua River, where you can swim, put in your boat for fishing, or use it for part of your Iron Man workout. People from all over the world visit this area to fish the Umpqua River and go hunting in the nearby woods. There is a garden area where you could grow your own veggies and a chicken house/yard if you'd like to have chickens. Coho and Chinook salmon pawn in the creek, along with otters and crawdads. The land is organic and there are two+ deer-fenced acres ready to plant. The owners purchased the farm because of its unique combination of creek, river, pastures, and forested mountains. We consider pets on a case-by-case basis. No smoking or vaping. We require first + last + refundable Security Deposit. Pets conditional. Additional deposits for Pet ($500/per approved pet). Tenants must pick up after pet. Pets are considered on a case-by-case basis.
