48 Parkwood Avenue is a long-standing part of Columbus' history. Built in 1906, it was originally a family home, later becoming the headquarters of the Ohio Baptist General Convention in the 1950s until the mid-1990s. The property was placed on Columbus Landmarks Most Endangered Properties List in 2018. New life has been infused into the space with a restoration overseen by the State Historic Preservation Office. Based on the connection to the civil rights movement, the building has now been placed on the National Registry of Historic Places and will receive an Ohio History Marker in 2024.
