Hello!… We are looking to fill a bedroom in a beautiful, spacious four-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment in Somerville, between Davis and Ball Square.
Duration: 12-month lease from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2027
The room: The apartment spans the second and third floors of a three-story house. The open bedroom faces the neighbor (South) and is located on the third floor with 2 other bedrooms. (There is another bedroom on the second floor across from the bathroom .)
It is furnished with a bed, a desk, and a lamp.
The house: Sunny, spacious two-level apartment on the 2nd and 3rd floors of a two-family home with great natural light. High ceilings, large windows, and hardwood floors throughout. We have an abundance of common areas!
- Our kitchen features a dishwasher, gas range/stove, and the normal slew of appliances.
- The brand-newish bathroom features a beautiful glass standing shower
- We have free in-unit laundry, next to the kitchen
- Large dining room and living room allow space for spreading out or spending time together, working on puzzles, watching movies, eating together, etc.
- We've used part of the driveway as a backyard patio, with furniture and potted plants. We share this outdoor space (and the driveway) with our downstairs neighbors.
- We use the back stairwell for storing bikes and extra kitchen supplies. There's also an unfinished basement, and our front entrance has a small porch with a chair.
- There is extra storage available in the cedar-lined attic.
Location: Quiet neighborhood within walking distance of lots of fun in Davis, Porter, and Ball Squares. We're just one block away from the Somerville Community Path, less than a 10-minute walk from the Davis T stop (red line) and Ball Square T stop (green line), and two blocks away from the 88/89/90 bus routes. 10-minute walk to all the shops/bars/restaurants of Davis Square, and a 15-minute walk to Star Market and shops/restaurants of Porter Square. 5-min walk to Nathan Tufts Park (a beautiful picnic spot), across the street from a corner store (comes in handy when you need some last-minute vanilla extract or wine!), just down the street from several delicious brunch spots in Ball Square (Sound Bites, Ball Square Cafe), and is in prime Porchfest and HonkFest territory! Really a great place to live.

- M: I'm a landscape designer in my late 20s and recently graduated from Harvard GSD. Originally from Toronto, I lived in this house for 2 years and love hosting friends in the common spaces and growing my plant collection!
- K: I'm in my late 30s and a professional artist who does freelance and contract work. I enjoy cooking, playing games, running, and hiking. I like chatting and getting to know people, but I also enjoy my quiet time. Originally from Vermont, I moved to Boston 3 years ago and love it here.
- Y: I'm a software engineer in my late 20s. I'm also originally from Toronto and moved here last year. I really enjoy staying active and getting to know the vibrant Somerville/Boston area community. Currently, I bike, box, run, dance, and rollerblade whenever I find the time.
Looking for roommates interested in:
- A friendly, warm, adult home. We try to pair open communication with an assumption of good intent.
- Occasionally hanging out - playing board games, chat, cooking/eating together - but usually fly solo. We enjoy each other's company, but also respect everyone's busy schedules and different studying/work needs. (Because the common areas are separate from the bedrooms, it's really easy to have your own space when you need it or company when you want company.)
- Organic conversations about life, food, music, or whatever the heck is happening in the world.
- Occasional low-key dinner parties or small gatherings, but not hosting big events or loud parties.
- Sharing responsibility for house cleaning/upkeep. (We used to do a chore chart, which might come back)
- No dogs or cats allowed, and no smoking or drug use in the house.
Bills, bills, bills:
Split utilities (internet, gas, electric), and common supplies like olive oil, cleaning supplies, and toilet paper. Utilities usually run $100-150/month/person.
To sign the lease, our landlord will need a security deposit (1 month's rent)
