Mount Pleasant is located in the NW quadrant of Washington, DC and is one of the first residential neighborhoods in the District. The neighborhood is located between 16th Street, NW, and the Columbia Heights neighborhood to the east, Rock Creek Park to the north and west, and Harvard Street, NW, and the Adams Morgan to the south.
Unlike Adams Morgan and the U Street Corridor, Mount Pleasant doesn't have much of a night life, though many are trying to bring live music back to the area. Two places that draw the night crowd include the Marx Cafe and Don Juan's restaurant.
There is a four block commercial area in Mount Pleasant consisting of different types of shops, and a large retail development has been erected near Columbia Heights, just east of Mount Pleasant.
