The winter-time heat comes from baseboard-heated water radiators - Rare, expensive to build, and importantly, this means during the winter the air inside the apartment does Not dry out like it does with common forced air heating. It's totally silent as well.
The yard is usually inhabited by birds, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, and deer. And sometimes, the beauty of a baby bobcat.
The driveway is hidden, and the house is undetectable from the road. It's private.
And being right off historic Newtown Turnpike (where stagecoaches traveled from Stamford up to Newtown in the 1800's.), there is little traffic to begin with. The apartment is 99% free of any road/car noise. It is Serene.
