We had to move everything out because of that only for the landlord to contact us on the last day and state she had spoken with rent relief and the eviction would be closed
Because of all the stress caused by the lack of effort from our landlord we decided we would not renew the lease which is due to expire on 11/30.
On that same day the locks were changed! because they couldn’t access our unit they assumed WE changed the locks!
We had no way to enter the unit after 11/30 as our lease was up on 12/1 and because we supposedly didn’t turn in keys they FORCED the lease to continue which resulted in rent and late fees still being accumulated against my name without my consent(which I have a video of me sliding all 3 keys in an envelope with the writing “unit ###” on the face front under the door at 5pm on 11/30, because guess what THE OFFICE WAS CLOSED) website says 5:30 closing Mon-Friday.
They took complete advantage of the system. We as a family were severely affected by COVID which resulted in loss of income and they used the last couple of months of our lease to pin us in a corner not knowing what was actually going to happen as rent relief took a long time to come through. I can’t express everyday we called them we could never have a clear conversation because everyone apart of that stuff was verbally confrontational to the point you could barely speak with them cutting you off and “have a nice day” and hanging up. We’ve had family members get their vehicles towed within a four hour period for not being registered but when you showed receipts of the car being registered early morning 9am also parked in visitor spot and the tow truck burning out of the complex at 6pm the same day with my cousins vehicle only to be met with “there’s nothing we can do, you will have to go talk to the tow company” WHAT THE **** you’re in contract with that company to tow but they get who they want and we have to pay for in the end even if we are not at fault!
