It is located in Evacuation Zone A. During storms, the house has never flooded, but the streets of Palmetto and Sarasota have flooded (e.g. Hurricanes Helene and Milton). House took no damage last year during Helene or Milton, but you should expect early evacuation orders and street flooding in major storms. Renters insurance is strongly recommended. ABOUT ME (YOUR DOWNSTAIRS HOUSEMATE) I am a 51-year-old Instructor at USF Sarasota-Manatee, teaching: Biology for Majors & Non-Majors, Genetics, Marine & Freshwater Toxins I've worked for USF for 16 years. I have 4 adult children and 1 grandchild who may occasionally visit. At home, it's just: me my 3 small dogs my 2 cats I am: very clean quiet organized early to bed on work nights respectful of shared living spaces I expect the same from you. Quiet hours: bedtime until sunrise. All shared areas must remain clean and orderly. The person renting the other bedroom on the same level as the bedroom available to rent to you (and would share the bathroom with you) is a 24 yo female who works locally. Just an FYI: I did just buy the home in late December 2025 and am having work done in the master bathroom downstairs and on the back porch and deck that will take some time, so a contractor will be present during the day on weekdays.
