Looking for a female housemate for our 3-bedroom 2-bathroom house in Mountain View starting September 1st, with flexibility to start earlier with sufficient notice. Details below. Rent per month: $2,200/month for available room with attached bathroom (large master bedroom) + utilities (usually additional ~$200/month/person; includes internet) + cleaner every 2 weeks for common areas (usually additional ~$120/month/person) Current occupants: - Female, late-30s, lawyer, a huge nerd (Dungeons & Dragons, anime, etc.), enjoys scuba diving and biking to work, occupies one of the smaller bedrooms, fully vaccinated, goes into the office every day on weekdays. - Female, early-30s, biomedical engineering, enjoys running, hiking, art & crafts, occupies the other smaller bedroom, fully vaccinated, goes into the office every day on weekdays. House - 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom (1 bedroom + attached bathroom available) - Single story - ~1,600 square feet in total - Except available bedroom + bathroom, comes fully furnished (possible room for a little more furniture if you have it) - 5-10 minute walk to nearest Safeway (shopping complex also has a few other shops) - 12-minute easy bike ride to downtown Mountain View - Laundry (washer + dryer) in-unit - Both AC and heating in-unit (central) - Generally a shoes off household - Parking in driveway (one parking space available for new resident); there is an attached 2-car garage used for storage and bicycles (also w/ available space for new resident) - Decent amount of street parking for guests - Small-ish backyard with fence; has some soil available for gardening but nothing currently planted (if you have a green thumb, that's a bonus!) - On a semi-major road, but between a hedge out front and the insulation, is generally quite quiet - Full access to common areas (i.e., we do expect you to cook, eat, use the TV and laundry, chill in the living room, etc.), just be generally clean and respectful about it Available Bedroom - Room dimensions are 15'4" x 13'8", in addition to walk in closet (5' x 9'10") - Unfurnished - Own attached bathroom - Windows look out on backyard and narrow side yard with fence - No private entrance (unless you're really determined and willing to climb through a window) - Former occupant is moving out to live with his long-term girlfriend Applicants - 12-month commitment beginning September 1, 2026 (runs through August 31, 2027), with flexibility to start earlier with sufficient notice - Deposit = $1,333.33 - Looking for female housemate - Please share details about yourself in your initial message (personal, professional, why moving, what you are looking for in housemates, any questions you have, etc.) - Initial tour / meet up available via Facetime / Skype late weekday evenings / on weekends - No smoking - Drinking and edibles OK (just don't be a jerk about it) - No (other) drugs please - Great if willing to hang out occasionally, though fine if more introverted or busy. Current occupants generally hangout in the living room a couple times a week, and we always welcome more company! - Occasional guests fine (though make sure to give other occupants a head's up), but overnight guests need to be OK'd by other residents (who are generally fine with occasional overnight guests too but "don't be a jerk about it" rule applies here too, e.g., don't have your significant other basically living here unless that is - very- negotiated up front) - No huge parties please (occasional dinner parties/game nights/etc. w/ friends fine as long as discussed w/ other residents first) - Pets would need to be discussed with landlord - Would appreciate proof of employment/income + references from past housemates (in addition, landlord will ultimately need to OK you, which will probably also involve credit + background check)
