Ocean breezes drift through the community, which is cheery looking, with 20 brightly painted wood-frame townhouses and 6 six-story midrise buildings comprising 305 affordable apartments and 91 market rate apartments. There are 103 one-bedroom units, 148 two-bedroom apartments, 117 three-bedroom apartments, and 28 four-bedroom apartments, adding a diverse flavor to the community. There is a laundry room on each floor of the mid-rise apartment building and laundry hookups in the townhouses. Washers and dryers are included in the market-rate apartments. Residents often gather in the community room for various events, including move night, holiday parties, and the city-wide Unity Day each summer. Maverick is just two blocks away from the Maverick MBTA station, another bonus, bringing the rest of Boston and beyond that much closer. No pets are allowed except to accommodate handicapped persons. Smoking is allowed in one s apartment only, not in the common areas. Maverick was the first LEEDs certified multi-family development in New England.
