About the building
I'm looking for somebody who is interested in doing a work exchange. I am an active paralyzed man in his 60's (injured at 20).… I am highly self-sufficient but a recent health set back has me wanting a little extra assistance. Mostly the work is meal preps, but a little involves help with dressing, exercise, laundry, cleaning up, running errands, and an odd task here or there. As I am pretty independent, and used to caring entirely for myself for the last 40+ years, I really don't need a "caregiver" in the traditional sense. It's just that I'd like to offload some of my time and energy. Give or take, the hours are probably about an hour in the morning, an hour during lunch, and half an hour during dinner, plus extra time adding to about 20 hours per week. In return they would get free rent and utilities in an attached studio with private entrance and bath. In addition more compensation could be negotiated depending on how many days of the week, and hours of service are being provided. Prior experience is not necessary, but the person should feel comfortable around the kitchen, be easily instructed, be thoughtful, be reliable and be somewhat easy-going. Having a driver's license and even a vehicle would be helpful. Subject to a background check.
