I have never had a worse experience living in an apartment complex than when I lived here. The apartments themselves look nice, but are cheaply constructed and way overpriced for what you get. The walls, floors, and ceilings are paper thin; the tiniest footstep from your upstairs neighbor reverberates thunderously throughout the apartment. I've overheard far more than I ever cared to hear from all of my neighbors. The elevator works only 30% of the time. There is no real delivery management process, so packages are lost and stolen on a daily basis. Despite a "no smoking" rule in place, my apartment was constantly flooded with the putrid stink of neighbors' cigarette smoke (nauseating when you work from home). Closing the windows wasn't an option because there's no AC in any of the apartments. There was human feces left sitting in front of one of the entrances for WEEKS. Management did nothing to clean it up, and it was still there the day I moved out. I'd be surprised if management knew it was even there because the building manager never responded to calls, emails, texts, maintenance requests, etc. I had to use my own time and money to fix things that broke in the apartment (a weekly occurrence) and despite being told I would be reimbursed for the costs, I never was. I couldn't use more than one burner on the stove without blowing a fuse. The parking lift system was a disaster; if someone parks improperly, the lift ceases to operate, trapping everyone else's cars in the system with no way to remedy the issue outside of contacting the offending resident, which, again, requires the building manager to do her job effectively (she doesn't). My car was broken into when I had to park in the street due to parking lift issues. Couldn't tell you how many times I worried for my safety while walking alone in the surrounding area. Icing on the cake? Tried to follow all the rules for moving out with respect to inspections and whatnot. The building manager was entirely unresponsive during the process. Had to move out without doing the inspection because she just never responded. When the final bill came, they decided to keep my security deposit for no stated reason. Tried to call the management company for more information and was met with an automated response that directed me to the building manager's email address. I was completely unable to get in contact with a human to find out what happened to my security deposit. They still have yet to furnish any information, but were happy to send me to collections. In conclusion, stay away from this building and this property management company at all costs. Save yourself the stress and frustration. Live somewhere (literally anywhere) else where your landlord actually cares about you, particularly if you're going to spend several thousand dollars a month.
