By renting for the summer, or simply a month at a time, you can come for the weekends or stay full time at this newly updated, fully furnished 1950s fisherman's cottage that offers the kind of peaceful coastal setting that is increasingly hard to find. This traditional beach cottage is set on an unusually well positioned one-acre waterfront lot with truly exceptional views on three sides (the Potomac River, the Chesapeake Bay, and a serene tidal pond). Yet it is located less than a 3-hour drive from Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, and Charlottesville, and less than 90 minutes from Richmond and Williamsburg, making it easily accessible for weekend visits or extended stays. The cottage comfortably accommodates up to five guests. Situated at the end of a quiet private lane with just a handful of neighbors, the furnished NTC 3-bedroom, 1.5-bath cottage combines timeless charm with relaxed waterfront living. The bright and airy interior features updated spaces that are clean and comfortable and filled with natural light. Enjoy spectacular sunrises and sunsets, cool bay breezes, star-filled skies, and visits from bald eagles, blue herons, and other coastal wildlife. Enjoy hours spent kayaking, crabbing, fishing, birdwatching, writing your memoirs perhaps, or visiting the area's many unique local historical sites, or simply relaxing with friends or family on the wraparound porch or on a private beach area just steps away. The cottage's high-speed internet makes it ideal for remote work and extended stays. Restaurants, marinas, coffee shops, grocery stores, museums, and the nearby towns of Burgess, Kilmarnock, Warsaw, Reedville, and Heathsville are all approximately 10 to 25 minutes away. Private arrangements for local deliveries, catering, and boating excursions may also be available.
