About the building

Private Room in Quiet Guatay Mountain "Retreat" - Great for Remote Work, Part-time or Slow Living *$1,500/mo* includes internet, propane/heat, water, streaming (Hulu, PBS, Netflix); split electric only. Looking for someone easygoing to share a peaceful, beautiful piece of land in Guatay. Seven acres backing directly onto Cleveland National Forest. Just 40 minutes from San Diego, but a world away. Real four-season weather here (rare for this part of the county), dark skies, total quiet. *The room:*Private bedroom in the main house, shared common spaces, guest bathroom is primarily yours (shower/tub combo). Room is currently furnished with a full/double bed and TV; these can be removed. *The land:* Hike out your back door into national forest. Watch birds, bunnies, and local wildlife right from the yard. Space to start a garden or raise chickens if that's your thing. Plenty of parking, garage storage space, and a wood-burning fireplace for the cold nights. Good for someone who wants to isolate for a while and not be bothered, or who wants to learn the local plants and trails, or maybe just a change of scenery. There's a ton of potential here for the right person. *About me:* Gen X, early 50s, tech geek, love to learn. Spent a lot of years being adventurous and driven. These days I'm in a season of wanting things calm and simple. I work from home, bake 10 different kinds of banana nut break, make homemade ice cream, and generally enjoy experimenting. Vegetarian household, but you don't need to be. 420-friendly. LGBTQIA+ friendly. Occasionally I host a "lady's night" (gf's jab the night away), have overnight guests and visitors now and then, and you're just as welcome to do the same. This isn't a quiet-all-the-time house, but it's not a party house either - just normal life happening. *About the pack:* I have a 1.5-year-old rescue dog, Tilly - best dog I could've asked for. Open to discussing your pets; honestly, Tilly would probably love a companion or two, so if you've got a calm dog or cat, let's talk. Good fit if you're: past the party-house stage of life, settled, low-drama, and looking for a genuine home base rather than a party pad. Message me and tell me a bit about yourself, what brings you to the area, and any pets you'd bring along.
