During the lockdown in 2020, it was my whole world. But I never tired of being there - it's a wonderful place. Light streams through 14 windows on all four sides. In the winter, it feels like a Vermont chalet; you can see the sun set over the ridge on the west side of the Hudson. In spring when the leaves come back it feels like a treehouse. It's warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The great room faces south; the ceilings are more than 17 feet high. A 5'10" person can walk fully upright in the loft, which makes for a cozy guest space. One of the bedrooms is small, but large enough for two huge dressers and a queen-sized bed. The other bedroom is bigger, with a view of the playground directly next door. The floors date back to the first gilded age. The landlords are attentive and thoughtful and live right next door.
