I'm updating my details on my listing as I've received several inquiries but to make sure there's no confusion I'm stating here that I'm looking to find a renter to rent "a room" in my home with shared common areas and I am "not" selling my house. With that being said, I (landlord/homeowner) will be living as a roommate to whoever rents the room from me in my home/house. I do prefer to do a meet and greet either in person (before giving out my home address) or online where we can have a chance to see each other and ask questions to see if we would be a good "fit". I have a "compatibility" questionnaire to help guide our questions and I welcome any questions that any applicant may have for me also. I have lived with roommates on and off for many many years .. some long-term and some short-term and found that this process helps facilitate a good outcome. This would be ideal for a traveling professional who is on a "long-term assignment" for their company.. yet I am also open to a steady - long term renter who's not on a assignment that needs a room to rent regularly "if" we both determine we would be a good fit. The applicant is made aware that the room is already furnished.. so if someone decides to stay long term most of the furniture needs to remain but accommodations can be discussed especially if there's medical or physical needs requiring such exceptions like a special bed. What is financially requred if the inquiring person has decided they would like to move forward to rent the room as well as the landlord agreeing to moving forward then the financial amounts due upon moving would be.. first and last month rent and a $600 deposit (which will be kept in a separate savings account. Background Screening Disclosure: The Landlord hereby notifies the Applicant that a comprehensive US background check will be conducted as part of the application process. This screening may include, but is not limited to, a review of the applicants criminal background records, eviction history, employment verification, and prior rental references across all United States jurisdictions. This whole process may take around 2 weeks give or take. Questions and discussion are welcome and a house rules document will be provided upon signing of the lease agreement. All the documents used or provided by the landlord/homeowner have been attorney approved, and I uses my own lease agreement and applicant will be given that one to sign upon move in. Upon request (at any time by applicant) all documents can/will be made available for review.
