About the building

Fully furnished cottage surrounded by nature, perfect for active and outdoorsy snowbirds! Garden in the large yard with flower beds and a greenhouse. Stroll through a 3-acre native forest behind the home to Volcano Golf Course. Take quiet neighborhood walks or ride bikes to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, just a mile away, or to Volcano Winery close by. Located at a cooler 4,000 foot elevation in Volcano, Hawai'i, enjoy a tinge of winter while still being just a 45 minute drive from tropical coastal beach parks in Hilo. This three bedroom cedar cottage is bright and open with a large living/dining/kitchen area, including a cozy wood-burning fireplace to keep you warm on cool nights. Laundry room features newer washer & dryer. Three bedrooms include extra beds for when family comes to visit over the holidays (with grandkids, perhaps?). Inside find one full bath in the hall, and another half bath off the primary bedroom. There is a bonus private shower off the side deck with easy access to rinse off after gardening or for use when you have a home full of visitors. If Kilauea eruptions continue as they have since December 2024, enjoy a front row seat to watch the lava glow among stars from the kitchen window or bench on the covered side deck. Be the first to arrive when eruptions start or simply explore miles of hiking trails every day in this Hawai'i mountain paradise. Start and end your day on the covered, wrap-around deck sipping tea or Volcano wine while listening to native birds or grilling dinner on the barbecue. Cuddle up to read a book or do a puzzle by the fireplace on cool, misty nights. Everything included, just bring your toothbrush, gardening gloves, and hiking boots to experience this nature-lovers paradise.
