  • Lease: Hello, there! I am a teacher here in New Orleans who will be making my yearly Summer migration and am looking for a subletter for my room and home during the months of June and July. I will be in the house until the end of May and will return come August. I am flexible on the dates of move-in but firm on July 31st (or before) being the last day. My close and wonderful friend and housemate will be living here but will be traveling for approximately three weeks to a month from late June to early July, at which point you would have the home to yourself during that time. The house is a lovely two-bedroom home in the historic Lower 9th Ward. It includes a washer/dryer, small front and backyard with a clothesline, gated driveway, central A/C and gas stove. There is also a garage with space for storage should you need to use it. The house is fully furnished and I will empty my closet before I leave so that you may be able to use it entirely. It is about a 10-15 minute bike ride to the French Quarter and there are also spare bicycles that you may use included with your stay! Our neighbors are kind and quiet families and it's just a few blocks away from a beautiful stroll down the levee along the Mississippi River. Rent is $650/mo including water and internet. I will pay for the first $100 of entergy, but you are responsible for anything that accrues after that. I am also including a $200 cleaning deposit that will be returned to you as long as I return to a clean room and home with plants alive and well. So, that's $1,500 due when you move in: $650 for June + $650 for July + $200 cleaning deposit. The three most important things to me are that: - Our home is clean (same condition I left it in) - Our plants are alive and well. - You are good people. :) Be honest with yourself: if you're not clean or good at caring for plants, please do not reply. Another important nonnegotiable is that you *MUST* be able to meet in person beforehand. It is very important to both of us that your character, personality and lifestyle are compatible with our own. Please respond with a brief intro of yourself and anything else that you think I should know. Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions that you may have. Cheers! -Benjamin
