THE PROPERTY
This elegant, historic (circa 1873) furnished townhouse apartment is located among other stately town-homes on a tree-lined street bordering on Blagden Alley just 1/2 block from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The property has a pedigree as the home of the first African American Senator to serve a full term in office, Senator Blanche Kelso Bruce of Mississippi.
Note that this is a fully furnished apartment (sorry the furniture can't be removed). At 1200 SF, this is a very large space for a 1 bedroom. The historic Blagden Alley/ Naylor Court area radiates urban cool and is heavy on great eateries! You're just 1-2 blocks from The Dabney, All Purpose Pizza, Seylou Bakery & Coffee, Tiger Fork, La Coulomb Coffee, and Corduroy to name but a few. You'll be just 5 blocks away from landmarks like the National Portrait Gallery and the National Museum of American Art. The White House and the National Gallery of Art on the National Mall are both an 11-block walk. There's also a new Giant supermarket just 3 blocks away!
TRANSPORTATION
You won't need a car, the Mt Vernon - Convention Center Metro is 11/2 blocks away. Union Station is a transportation hub for the Mid-Atlantic region.
