About the building

Although Zillow lists this as a three-bedroom apartment, it is a 4 bedroom stand-alone house on five-acre lot about 4 miles inland from the town of Mendocino, in the sun belt. There are two other houses on the property with plenty of space between them. Dogs are welcome, but must get along with other dogs as there is a large dog living on the property, and neighbors' dogs tend to visit. Main living area is the original 1960s cabin with open floor hexagon 900 sq ft living area with small bathroom/shower on main floor and loft bedroom above. Skylights and lots of windows give the space wonderful light. - Loft bedroom (25x13) has full sized closet - Kitchen includes old growth redwood custom counters, new fridge and propane stove. - New Williams vented propane heater keeps the place toasty in winter time and functions during power outages. Built off the main living area is a separate bedroom, laundry room, and bathroom. - Bedroom (13x11) has French doors to a small deck (13x7) with outdoor claw foot bathtub, - Large Closet (2x7) - bathroom (7x6) has shower - Small Laundry room (7x6) has electric washer and dryer, and propane water heater Two additional cabins connect to the main house via a 20x25 deck - Each cabin is 10x12 with loft. Loft is just big enough to hold a queen bed or small couch. All measurements are approximate Jackson State Forest abuts the property and is accessible via trail from the house. It's possible to hike on trails from the house through JSF down to Big River and into town (6-8 miles depending on route taken). Landlord is local but does not live on the property. We are subletting while we live abroad for at least one year, possibly longer. Photos are with our existing furniture. We are open to leaving some items for your use.
