From July 15, 2026 until June 30, 2027 We are a small family with elementary-school-aged children.… I'm a professor at a university in downtown Chicago, and my wife works full time with a hybrid schedule. We've loved living in this home for its open floor plan and abundant natural light that streams through large windows throughout the day. We are looking to rent our house fully/semi furnished for 1 year while we travel during sabbatical. The spacious kitchen has been perfect for our love of cooking and entertaining colleagues and friends. Plenty of storage space, coat/shoe closets, bedroom attached walk in closets,and cabinets around the house, kitchen, and basement. The thoughtful layout with kids' and primary bedrooms on the second floor, and an office and guest bedroom on the main level gives us privacy even when hosting overnight guests. We take full advantage of the beautifully maintained yard. The back patio features outdoor dining space, while the brick patio has lounge furniture and fire pits for cooler evenings. The location is ideal, with parks, cafes, and restaurants within walking distance. Our family enjoys cooking, art projects, playing outdoors, and swimming at nearby public pools. We are clean and organized family with love for art and reading. The block is peaceful and safe, very friendly neighbors and many school age kids. Close to Village hall and Oak Park police station, the property is very well connected to Chicago and suburbs via nearby CTA & Metra train stations, Bus, Biking lanes, and via car by I-290. Close to all amenities that a family would need. Lots of parks and great K-12 schools, biking lanes, local grocery stores, pharmacy, Hospitals, Banks, retail stores like Old Navy, Target, misc merchandise shops, and great cafes & restaurants. House is 7 minute walk to a Blue Line Metro stop, 12 minute walk to Green Line Metro stop, and 1 min walk to bus going straight to the West Loop and downtown Chicago. The house is also just 2 min drive to I-290 Highway and has great connectivity to universities, Chicago downtown, and Chicagoland suburbs. The neighborhood is very safe with lots of parks and great K-12 schools, biking lanes, local grocery stores, pharmacy, hospitals, Banks, retail stores like Old Navy, Target, misc merchandise shops, and great cafes & restaurants. The house has a huge and beautiful yard. It is fully furnished for a family with small kids and ideally, we want to rent it furnished. However this is negotiable and we may be open to storing our furnishings elsewhere if everything else is a good fit. The house also has a very generous size fully finished basement with a full attached bath, washer dryer, and pantry space. for screening purposes, the landloard/or designee will provide a link for credit/background check.
