About the building

Description of apartment: This is a basement studio apartment in a house where I live with my two children, boys ages 6 & 9.… We share parking, a patio, electricity, internet, and laundry. The apartment is one large living space in a finished basement, and other occupants have used it in different ways. There's a gas fireplace (very cozy in winter!), wooden paneling, and ample storage space. There is a newly renovated kitchen with counter tops, sink, mini-fridge (though open to buying a bigger one), and a place to put cooking appliances. There is laundry on site that we share, and a bathroom with a shower. There's also a big patio for hanging out and grilling (I like to socialize on occasion!), and a garden and orchard that are beautiful. Area: This is an awesome location between Portland (25 min), the ocean (20 min), and Lewiston (25 min). You can pretty much commute anywhere! There are running trails behind the house, it's a 10 minute drive to Pineland and Bradbury Mountain, and even our own brewery and restaurant (2 different establishments!) just a mile away. What I'm looking for: Because we share a house and my kids are around, I'm looking for someone who likes kids, who has good references from employers and landlords, experience living with others, an ability to communicate frequently, kindly, and honestly, and a generosity of spirit. I'm looking for someone that already has stable employment in the areas. Someone who is handy and/or can babysit kids is a plus. Kids are noisy and we share a ceiling/floor, but we can create "quiet hours" that works with your schedule. Though this is a year-long lease, I'm interested in someone who might want to be here for a few years.
