The Llanerch School Apartments are located at the corner of Llandillo Road and Darby Road in Havertown, PA.… The stately building was originally a two-story four-room red brick schoolhouse which was built in 1905 and then replaced in 1913 with the Llanerch School; this structure which still stands today will, from here on, be known as The Llanerch School Apartments.
Historically, the property served as the Llanerch School and then the Stratford Friends School. The building was designated as a historic landmark of Haverford Township in 2013 and is in the process of being designated on the National Historic Register. Throughout the renovations and transformation into the apartment building, many of the historic features were able to be maintained, including the 10-12 foot ceilings, hardwood floors, large windows, and turn of the century original slate chalk boards. In addition to historic features, the property boasts individual climate-controlled heating and air, a washer & dryer in each unit, leather quartz countertops, and stainless steel appliances. Spacious bedrooms include remote controlled ceiling fans and full baths for every bedroom.
The property is situated in the Llanerch neighborhood of Haverford Township with the 112 Septa bus operating on the corner. It is in close proximity to the Septa high speed rail station, Chatham Park Elementary School, Haverford Middle School and Haverford Senior High School.
The property has numerous close by shopping locations that include Lowes, Kohl's, Giant Food Store, Wawa, and the soon to be completed Amazon Go Grocery store. There are also many eating and drinking establishments within a quarter mile to a mile radius. Directly behind the school is a public park which was segregated from the apartments when Haverford Township sold the building to the Stratford Friends School in the mid 1990's.
