This is a well-maintained single-family home in Chesapeake, leased under a standard 12-month Virginia lease. A few things to know upfront: The basics -Rent is due on the 1st of the month, paid via online or cashier check -Security deposit follows VA law: returned within 45 days of move-out with an itemized list if anything's deducted. -Landlord is responsible for keeping the property up to code and habitable, so maintenance issues get addressed properly. Yard & exterior: - Tenant handles routine upkeep mowing, edging, and weeding In exchange, the landlord covers the bigger seasonal jobs: gutter cleaning twice a year, bulk debris removal, and fresh mulch for the flower beds each spring. It's a fair split day-to-day care is yours, the heavier maintenance is theirs. - Landscaping stays as-is unless both sides agree in writing, so no surprise changes to the yard you've settled into. Smoking policy: No smoking or vaping indoors but it's fully allowed outdoors on the deck, porch, or yard. Good to know: -No pets policy with the only exception being a documented service/support animal approved in writing. -Walk-through inspections happen twice a year, with at least 24 hours' notice given in writing beforehand.
