The neighborhood

About the building

This is an unusual listing, because it's a space like a studio, but in a shared home (read on!). The space for rent is the entire upper level of the house. It's the size of a studio apartment and offers lots of privacy and flexibility. It's remodeled with skylights, huge walk-in closet, and an extra nook area (almost like a separate room) that's perfect for meditating, reading, or sleeping. Personal mini-split offers you full control of upstairs heat and air conditional. (Option to rent empty, or partially furnished.) Quiet neighborhood with easy street parking. Walk to Peninsula Park. Quick drive or bike ride to the lively Mississippi and Alberta Arts districts. I live and work in two smaller rooms downstairs. Have been renting this house for almost 5 years and have an excellent, collaborative relationship with the owners of the house. We share all other spaces and benefits of this beautiful, well-cared-for 1930s home: Living room + Dining Rooms: With hardwood floors, gas fireplace, and lots of windows. Kitchen: Dishwasher, gas range, large fridge; on one end is a darling circular breakfast nook (inside that "turret" thing). Front yard: Has lots of vegetation and several good size garden boxes. Fenced Backyard: With deck, fruit trees, firepit. There's also a small outbuilding with "shop" section including a workbench, lawn mower, bike storage, etc. Basement: Washer & dryer in the large, dry, unfinished basement. It has some windows, and I'm thinking we could set up a movie-den/guest space down there. Or workspace for messier projects. Or just lots of room for storage. Bathroom: One shared bathroom on the ground floor; it's cozy but well-designed/renovated, with a beautifully tiled tub & shower. I'm Angelica. Busy, sociable, woman who's always up for a good conversation. My cultural vibe is somewhere between bougie European and down-to-earth hippy. Omnivore, mostly organic, liberal, always reading/learning something. Pickleball player, opera lover, broad range of craft & DIY skills, knitter, and former swing/tango dancer. If this sounds intriguing, please reach out, and I'll share additional details. :)
