The neighborhood

About the building

Here's the one you've been waiting for: a four-bedroom, two-bath house that's two blocks from Forsyth Park, the elegant, sprawling entertainment center of this many-sided city. It's in the chic and always-trendy Victorian section of town in central downtown Savannah, so it's near SCAD buildings and just a short drive to other university campuses. Inside, lots and lots of space punctuated by elegant Victorian features from stained glass lamps to tropical palm ceiling fans, all the usual bathroom fixtures, wall sconces with twinkling lights, shining wood floors and four fireplaces, one in each of two upstairs bedrooms, one in the big dining room and one in the living room. Add to that: high ceilings, beautiful woodwork, wide period-style moldings. Sprawl out with friends in the big, big living room with antique fireplace and spread out the pizza boxes in an equally large dining room, where you'll also find a Victoria-era fireplace. Huge doors divide the living and dining rooms so it's possible to create a fifth bedroom in the space or turn it into a study/exercise/drawing room (the kind you actually draw in!) with plenty of room for artsy or brawn equipment. Modern additions to it all: washer/dryer, dishwasher, new central air/heat, giant bay windows, lots of light throughout, and shiny wood floors uniting it all. Just off the dining room is a big kitchen with small barstool-eat-in area for snacking. There's more. Upstairs, two huuuuge bedrooms with fireplaces, one of which even has its own small kitchen and dining area, created in what was once a side porch. A third bedroom is undeniably small what we call a 'box room' in the South with closet space and a window for lots of light. Compact but comfortable, this snuggly bedroom offers clothes storage space and bedtime space ideal for sleepers who want cozy quarters, or it can also be used as a design student art studio, a work-out room with no gym membership (!) or a study. There's one full bath upstairs and, another downstairs, where you'll find the big fourth bedroom with lots of windows and wood floors. Pets are okay with certain (eek!) exclusions and you pay electric, cable and water (which is pretty cheap in Savannah, call 'em, they'll tell you). Outside, lounge on the very-Southern front porch with your morning brew and watch passersby on their way to Forsyth Park or the boutiques, coffee shops and cafes that dot this popular neighborhood. Out back, there's a private, gated and fenced, yard sometimes used for parking, especially on street cleaning days. There are draperies throughout, kitchen curtains, shining wood floors, contemporary additions and parking both on-street and off-street. Call or text me. Come see this beauty that is near all SCAD buildings and steps from the city's premier park. Pets are okay with deposit. It's available now and can be seen anytime that's convenient for you. Great for family, career professionals, SCAD instructors or students, retirees, everyone who yearns for a touch of the antique South with spacious quarters, a premier neighborhood and proximity to the city's showpiece park. What are you waiting for? It's now or never...clinch it fast before others do!
