This old home was divided into 4 apartments many years ago. This structure was built as a one story home about 1910. It originally displayed a tall hip-roofed form with a center hall, two-rooms deep on either side. Heresay was that the second floor was added after WWII, and that the upstairs rooms had 4 GI's each, attending UNC on the GI Bill. The house was extensively renovated around 1990. It was totally rewired, insulated, replacement thermopane windows added, etc. Structural supports were added for the second floor. However, much of the old character, crookedness and charm remain.
