About the building

This preserved 18th century farmhouse is situated on a picturesque 24 acre estate boasting southerly views of rolling hills down to northern Connecticut including the majestic Mount Everett, the highest peak in the south Taconic mountains and adjacent to a 900 acre nature preservation. High speed internet by Fiber. Available for short term rental as well as longEr stays , the farmhouse itself is a completely private residence with its own driveway and entrance. Originally dating back to 1788, the farmhouse was initially completely renovated in the 1940's. The property was purchased in 2018 from a 3rd generation family and lived in by the hosts then upgraded with new fixtures and appliances. The house has: on the ground floor- foyer, coat closet, an office/mudroom with closet sofa/pullout bed and desk, one bedroom with closet and dresser, one full bathroom, living/dining room with wood-burning stove, kitchen with porch and old garage space. On the second floor you'll find two bedrooms, one with king bed and the other with a queen and a full bathroom. Plus a garage space for bikes and outdoor storage of toys! Sharing the property and located on its own 12 acres up the hill sits your host's residence, who will welcome you to this idyllic property and are available throughout your stay as needed. Please note that the hosts are a family of four, with a four year old girl and an 8 year old boy. Since the two homes share the land, we are looking for guests who will remain mutually respectful.
