House on large farmish compound property at the end of a culdesac avail now.… The main house is a 2bd/1ba, plus a sunny bonus room which could also be a bedroom. (Repainting this hideous color ASAP!) There's also a private large deck, garden, large basement with 1 1/2 finished rooms. The 2 car Garage was turned into a workshop.
The lot is 7600sf. I will live in the back cottage. There are several gates to keep your area private. I bought the property with the goal of continuing to foster at risk dogs from shelters as well as other animals in need. I'll also dog sit, but you have a private large deck and front yard when the side yard is in use. So, if you don't like dogs, this will not be the place for you. I'd only be able to take 1 more animal due to the 4 dog rule in Oakland.
Also, I'm planning to have dance, music, compassionate living, and healing arts events/workshops here sporadically. (I perform/teach music, dance, and am a music specialist for medically fragile children and hospice patients. For 33yrs I've been veg and involved in animal advocacy.) I appreciate quiet and calm at home as well so events would not be too often. No heavy drinkers or hard drugs please (dogs freak out). Easy going, responsible, and considerate folks only !
*Please note this is an old Oakland home, not a "perfect" renovated modern house.
$2800 for 1 person, $2950 for two plus 1 month's worth for deposit. Income verification, proof of funds, background check, and references needed. Utilities not included. Sorry, young children won't be a good match since lack of inhibitory control can be difficult with traumatized dogs.
