About the building

Hi! We have a huge room (~220 sqft), with a big closet, two big windows, and a shared bathroom available in our fun, social, co-ed house. The house is amazing, and everyone is committed to making it a great, comfortable place to live. Sorry, no furry pets allowed per the lease with our landlord. First, about the room/house: The location is excellent - walk to Brickyard/Millcreek Commons, stores, easy access to freeways, convenient to both mountains and sugarhouse/downtown, and quick to get to Momentum, the Front, or Vasa fitness. Close to Black Diamond if you're an employee there. The room is on the 2nd floor and is very very large - would be great for work from home, and gets great morning light year-round. It shares a bathroom with two other housemates (currently two guys). The house has good, strong AC in the summer and heat for the winter. The house is giant. It's ~4400 sqft, 6 beds 3.5 baths, with a nice deck off the kitchen, a huge backyard with very productive fruit trees (hello homemade pies!), a huge garden during the summer with lots of tomatoes, one dedicated off-street parking spot for you, and large kitchen/living areas. The kitchen is big and well laid out, and there is a large pantry room that has two extra fridges in it and extra shelving. With three full-size fridges, each housemate shares a full-size fridge/freezer with only one other housemate. There is a large laundry room on the 2nd floor and a large unheated storage space that can fit plenty of your gear/stuff. We have an awesome projector for movie nights and a great backyard patio with space for BBQs. Utilities are $95 extra, which includes the standard utilities plus fiber internet and tons of movies/streaming services. Also, from the utilities budget, the house buys toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, and some other cleaning supplies, so you don't need to worry about those things. Second, about us: We are a bunch of outdoorsy friends in our 20s and 30s, and we love hanging out with each other, having periodic shared dinners, and inviting our friends over for BBQs, board game nights, movie nights, and other fun social gatherings. We do have an occasional bigger gathering like 4th of July BBQ, Pie and Beer day, thanksgiving, etc, but definitely no ragers. We are all active and outdoorsy - mountain/road biking, skiing/touring, climbing, backpacking, trail running, playing ultimate frisbee, etc., and we are all open-minded and non-judgmental/accepting of other people's lifestyles. Would love to have new climbing/skiing/biking/running partners! Finally, about you: We are looking for a roommate (no couples in this room), but also someone we can be friends with and enjoy hanging out with. If you're the type who just wants to cook your dinner and go eat in your room and never see any of your housemates, then you are probably not going to be a good match. Obviously, everyone is welcome to time and space of their own (and with 4400 sqft, there is space to spread out), but in general, we are looking for a friendly roommate who wants to be part of the house socially. Of course, the standard things apply too - employed and financially responsible, no-drama, no smoking inside the house, positive and optimistic, etc. There will be a 12-month lease to start that auto converts to month-to-month after that. We might be willing to consider a 6-month lease. If you are interested, please send me a message and tell me a bit about yourself, what your situation is, and why you think you'd be a good fit! Thanks, -Matt
