Apartments situations like this are rare, highly desirable and few and far between in Philly. This is a "mom and pop" landlord, who has owned this building for over 30 years. You will not be renting from a management company or non caring landlords. They believe in continuing to hold these properties to provide apartments to those looking for a place to live, and fitting in the with their neighbors and community.
If you are interested in a quiet space, for a good rental price and in a beautiful historic building (my pics and the current tenants amount of stuff are not doing the apt justice) then this could be the right spot for you. If you are interested in playing super loud music or parties...this is not the right spot for you. Cigarette smoker or have pets (pets are on a case by case basis but not guaranteed), unfortunately also not for you.
The living room / kitchen is cozy, but features a big bedroom and closet and decent size bathroom. This apartment is at the end of the hall on the 3rd floor and only has one neighbor on the floor (a quiet painter / artist).
The rent is $1100 and includes heat (tenant pays cooking gas and electric and internet).
Also features shared laundry in the basement and shared access to a beautiful backyard with a "WPhilly Stonehenge", and front porch. Great neighbors and West Powelton neighborhood vibe. This area has excellent street parking availability with a yearly PPA permit (~$40 a year).
