About the building

Cozy 2 Bedroom 1 Bath. Approximately 750 sq. ft. located in the Hawthorne area, in a triplex building, one street behind Hawthorne Blvd.… This apartment is about a 3 minute walk from the Bagdad Theatre yet is on a quiet street with a HUGE backyard. There is plenty of space in the yard and you are more then welcome (invited in fact) to plant fruits and veggies if you are inclined to grow organically. Raspberry bushes are already planted and produce a lot each year. The yard gets a lot of sun, so it is perfect for this! The house is a triplex. Your potential home would be on the bottom level floor that opens directly into the backyard. The apartment is a "basement apartment" but has full windows and gets lots of light and is totally dry, so most likely you will not notice that it is a basement apartment... Of course the unit is completely private and is a separate apartment. There is a big porch on the front as well as the back of the apartment (shown in the pictures). What else can I tell you? Everybody in the building is quite nice and friendly and gets along very well. This "rental" won't be typical in that you will be dealing with me (the owner) and not some rental agency and strange tenants living next to you. There is a safe, covered shed in the yard to store bikes, which makes keeping a bike easy and increases "usable" space in the apartment. Finally you will see that the apartment looks new. That's because it is. It was recently re-done including the fridge and dishwasher. There is no screening fee, application fee, or other garbage you are charged by rental agencies. I will however ask for references, a credit check (which we can do together for free), and a security deposit and a small cleaning fee, which is standard. I also perform a background check Thanks Pete P.S. Laundry is free and included in rent (nice front loading washer on the property but not in your unit, also increasing "usable space"), Last detail. I can not allow smoking in the apartment or anywhere on the property. Sorry. Pets will be considered on a case by case basis.
