This century-old home offers five bedrooms, including two private-entry suites, along with a pool, a private tennis court, and multiple patios for true indoor-outdoor living. The home is full of original character and has been thoughtfully refreshed with new furnishings, fast WiFi throughout, and several dedicated workspaces well suited to remote work. A rare monthly retreat in one of LA's most storied coastal neighborhoods. Set behind a private gate in Santa Monica Canyon, this estate has been in the same family for sixty years and carries the kind of character that only a century-old home can. It has been thoughtfully refreshed throughout, blending original details and family art with new furnishings chosen for comfort during longer stays. Through the front door, the home opens in two directions. To the left, the first living room centers on a large sectional and smart TV, with a hallway leading to the kitchen, laundry room, and a second living area with its own couch, TV, and casual dining nook. To the right, the great room holds a long dining table and a piano beneath high ceilings, a natural gathering point for the whole group. Outside, the pool sits along one side of the home and the private tennis court along the other, reachable from either the great room patio or the second living room's patio doors. Poolside seating, adjustable umbrellas, a new BBQ, and a lower patio with outdoor couches make the grounds as livable as the interiors. Tennis lessons with the court's longtime resident pro can be arranged through our team, entirely optional and scheduled around your stay, for an additional cost. Upstairs, the primary suite features a king bed, a sitting area, a TV, and an en-suite bathroom with a separate shower and soaking tub. Its connected sunroom holds a dedicated desk, a quiet and light-filled place to work. Down the hall, a railroad-style bedroom with two twin XL beds and a bedroom with a king bed share a connecting full bathroom, a setup that works well for families. The king room adds a small walk-in closet, a second desk, and balcony access. Two private-entry suites round out the sleeping arrangements. Off the upper deck, a fully separated suite offers two full beds, an en-suite bathroom with a shower and tub, and a kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Below, a ground-floor casita with its own entrance includes a king bed, a couch, a TV, a kitchenette, a charming pink-tiled bathroom, and a sauna, ideal for guests who want extra privacy within the group. A mesh WiFi network delivers roughly 300 Mbps throughout the home, with coverage extending to the pool and tennis court. A world map in the den invites guests to pin where they are visiting from, a small tradition we hope you will add to. Guests will have access to the entire home, including both private-entry suites, the pool, and the tennis court. A separate rear structure on the property is occupied by a long-term resident with his own private entrance, fully separated from the guest areas; the garage parking area is shared. Other than the weekly gardener and pool service, no one else will access the home or grounds unless discussed with you in advance. This home sits in Santa Monica Canyon, the leafy pocket where Pacific Palisades meets Santa Monica, a few minutes from the sand at Will Rogers State Beach. The canyon is quiet and residential, with morning walks to local cafes and quick drives to the shops and restaurants of both Santa Monica and the Palisades. Hiking trails in the Santa Monica Mountains are close by, and the coastline stretches in both directions for beach days and sunset drives along PCH. Most people choose to have a car when visiting Southern California. There are an abundant amount of unique and significant attractions within two hours of this home. If you are an explorer, we recommend a car. If you are the type who wants to arrive and relax at the house on your stay, Uber and Lyft are readily available as well. OTHER IMPORTANT INFO: By booking with us, you agree to sign our Rental Agreement. You understand that your check-in instructions will be sent after successfully signing our Rental Agreement. Please note that in the State of California, guests staying over 30 nights are legally required to sign a legal CAR form with the DRE. Our Broker of Record will send you this CAR form for signature once payment is made. Your reservation will be considered ready to go once the form is signed. The pool is unfenced and there is no lifeguard on duty. The lead guest will be asked to sign a pool liability waiver prior to check-in, and children under 16 may not swim without an adult present. There is a 10-day grace period to return any items taken from the home at check-out (keys, garage remotes, etc). Replacement costs will be charged to guests if items are not received within 10 days of check-out. Please note that this is a non-smoking property. Any violation of the no-smoking policy will result in a minimum $250 fine. Utility Usage: Utilities are included up to the property's recent average usage. Any excessive use above that amount may result in additional charges. If applicable, payment for utility overages is due within 14 days of check-out.
