Lease terms

I prefer a one year lease. But on unusual circumstances with extraordinary tenants we can negotiate different terms. Also, a renewing of the lease is possible if the tenants and I mutually feel it will be good. I don't want use of pesticides in the private fenced garden attached to the house, at all, (we are organic and green types and tolerant but prefer a lovely environment,) and I prefer no smoking in the property, possibly outside may be allowable on terms, and for visitors if smoking to smoke outdoors, and to clean up any residue after themselves. No guns allowed on property at all. Respect for neighbors in terms of noise and hours is requested. Thanks! No tenant shall repaint unless they have permission in advance and probably then it would mean using a color acceptable to us. Any breach of these terms will mean potential breaking of the lease. You will need to establish and connect your own utilities. If pets are involved you will pay "pet rent" which could amount to $25/ month for a cat, and $50/ month for a dog.

About the building

This is a beautiful house in a lovely, delightful extraordinarily natural neighborhood, across from a pine and oak forest filled with owls and hawks, and wildlife, and with some of the finest houses and neighbors, heritage in Pacific Grove. It is 1,000 square feet. The multitude of lovely windows makes it seem very splendidly open to the surroundings. This beautiful house is only about a 7 minute walk from Asilomar Beach and the Conference grounds. In the other direction it is about a 10 minute walk downtown to the charming convenient core downtown of old PACIFIC GROVE, with Grove Market, Lighthouse Avenue, etc. The house is in a quiet surrounding, cheery, light and enchanting! We will be sure to try to accommodate any reasonable requests. The house is full of light, is airy, freshly painted throughout, with new carpet in one bedroom, and new linoleum in the laundry room. The floors are real hardwood floors genuine to the house which is a historic native Craftsman Bungalow style house with charming original features. For storage there is a shed attached to the eastern part of the house and there is a full attic storage which is also the same dimensions as the floor space of the house and will be available to use, once a renovation of its stairs takes place. The entrance to the property is presently on Chestnut Street, though the post office address is Alder. You can be very happy here. We welcome and help people who want to create a vegetable garden, have an appreciation of charm and beauty, or appreciate their surroundings! Welcome!
