The neighborhood

About the building

Please send a message and tell me about yourself before requesting a viewing. The more you can share about yourself, the more confident I will feel to reach out to you as a potential roommate. One roommate wanted to rent a bedroom and private bathroom and share a cozy home with one other male roommate, two ornery puppers, and eight sassy chickens. I'm a big animal lover, so one more dog that gets along with the other dogs and doesn't terrorize the chickens may be acceptable. Unfortunately, I can't accept cats because I'm allergic to them. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. The house is conveniently located. It's about 2.5 miles to CSU campus, 1.5 miles to the Swallow Max station, 1300 feet to the Shields bus stop, and short drives to nearly anything in Fort Collins. The backyard is fully fenced. It is on a corner lot with plenty of parking. There is a large deck on the back with a natural gas grill (so no swapping propane tanks and always ready to cook) and a hot tub. It's a great space for relaxing and entertaining. The chickens are kept in a fenced in run in the backyard. They provide a delicious supply of eggs from spring to fall. The backyard has lots of mature trees and shrubs that provide extra privacy in the back yard during the warm months. The house is a 1400 sqft split level with vaulted ceilings. Upstairs is my bedroom, office, and bathroom. The main level is the kitchen and living room with a gas fireplace. The lower level is a den area, washer and dryer, your bedroom, and your bathroom. The bedroom is about 11x10 ft plus closet. Your bathroom is right next to the bedroom and will be yours exclusively, though it may be used by guests, so I ask it be kept clean and presentable. The house is furnished, the bedroom up for rent is not. There is no need to bring furniture, dishes, small appliances, or other household items, other than what you plan to keep in your private areas. Laundry facilities are inside the house. I work from home, so it would be preferable if you did not. There is a garage which is filled with tools and equipment, so it is unavailable for vehicle parking. But you can park off-street in the driveway. There's a little space in the garage for some storage and for bicycles. Utilities will be divided evenly. These include water, electricity, gas, internet, and trash. I also have a dog waste cleanup service that comes once a week, so if you're bringing a dog, you will be asked to pay a share of that. I don't have cable, satellite, or any other television service, so if you desire those services, it would be your responsibility to pay for them exclusively. It's important that as roommates, we are a good fit for each other. So here's a little about me... I am a male Software Engineer who works from home for the Forest Service. I'm an avid runner, traveler, occasional biker, motorcyclist, frequent hiker, and enjoy many types of outdoor activities in every season. I'm 44 years old, and still enjoying being a bachelor - I don't have kids, ex-wives, or any of that. I enjoy occasional outings to local breweries, and all the lifestyle things Fort Collins is known for. Sometimes you may catch me strumming out a tune on a guitar and singing poorly. I tend to take on a lot of projects and hobbies. I'm not the gregarious type myself, but I enjoy a socially active household and will be unbothered if you have guests. If the home and my bio clicked with you, please reach out with any questions and tell me about yourself. Thanks for reading and good luck finding your new home in Fort Collins!
