This 100-year-old home offers a comfortable and functional space ideal for mid-term stays. The main bedroom includes a private en suite bathroom, while the second bedroom features a small adjoining room, perfect for a home office or quiet workspace. There's plenty of storage, a welcoming front porch with a swing and rocking chairs, and a large, fully fenced yard. This is not a generic cookie-cutter house filled with rent-a-center furniture, but a place we'd like you to feel at home. LOCATION: East Asheville is home to Highland Brewing (Asheville's first brewery) and several excellent restaurants. Downtown Asheville is a short 7-10 minute drive away, and there's a bus stop practically across the street if you'd rather travel for $1. The Blue Ridge Parkway is literally next door, so you have access to hiking and biking and other outdoor activities. The VA Hospital is 1.5 miles away, Mission Hospital is less than 4 miles away, and about 15 miles to Park Ridge Hospital. DOGS: Well-behaved, house-trained adult dogs are welcome! Our 11-year-old dog may not be social with other dogs, but typically coexists well when given space. (Full pet policies on request/as needed.) ABOUT US: We (the property owners) live in a separate building behind the home and respect guests' privacy while remaining available if needed. During the growing season, guests are welcome to enjoy fresh organic tomatoes, green beans, basil, and cut flowers from the garden. Neighbors on either side of the home are quiet and respectful. There is a pair of nesting hawks in the wooded area behind the neighbor's house, and we encourage wild birds with seed in the winter and hummingbird feeders in the summer.
