Like many homes in Colorado, the living area is located on the second floor to take advantage of the views of the surrounding mountains. The second floor features an open kitchen with modern appliances, ample cabinet space, and barroom-style seating. The kitchen opens onto a living/dining room with a leather couch, reclining chairs, and an enormous circular oak dining table that is perfect for family breakfasts or entertaining guests it accommodates 8 people! The oversized windows feature views of Crested Butte Mountain as does the large second-floor porch. Other features of the second floor include a bathroom with old-fashioned claw bathtub, an office with desk and pull-out couch, and an ornamental antique wood-burning stove. The house is equipped with fast internet for remote work.
The bedrooms are located on the first and third floors. The first floor has three bedrooms, each with its own small closet, dresser, nightstand, and electronic blinds. One room has two bunk beds and can accommodate 4 children; a second bedroom has a king bed; and a third bedroom has a double bed. They share a bathroom off the hall that was recently remodeled to include a modern shower. The first floor also includes a T.V. room, laundry room, entryway mudroom for shoes, and storage under the stairwell.
The third floor features a large bedroom under a vaulted ceiling. The room has large windows on either end with stunning views of Crested Butte Mountain. The occupants of the third floor have the benefit of their own private en-suite bathroom with double sinks, large mirror, shower, and sky light. The third floor also has a couch, dresser, night stand, and small television.
The house has a large yard that's enclosed by a fence, making it ideal for renters with children or pets. There is an outdoor hot-tub in one corner of the property perfect for relaxing on a cool evening. There's a grill in the side yard; and the back porch is great for storing bicycles. There's also an electric charging port in case you own an electric car.
Last but not least, the house is located in the quiet and family-friendly northwest quadrant of Crested Butte. Due to its limited access points, the northwest quadrant has much less automobile traffic than the rest of town, which not only makes it a safe neighborhood for kids to play, but also makes it easy to find parking. The northwest quadrant of town is also close to the family-friendly hiking and biking trails such as the Woods Walk, the Lower Loop Trail, and more. At the same time, the house is a leisurely three-block walk from the center of downtown with its abundance of restaurants, shops, galleries, etc.
