About the building
This is an ad for a roommate: Two large rooms for rent in a two-bedroom apartment on the first floor of a four-family brick building in the Hamilton… Park area. You get the very sunny, south-facing living room with large windows, and what used to be the dining room, but which is now your bedroom. You get a separate entrance to your rooms. I get the two smaller rooms in the back of the apartment, on the opposite side of the kitchen from your rooms. We share the large, eat-in kitchen and the bathroom. All of the interior doors will have locks. We split the electricity and gas bills. Water (cold and hot) is included in the rent. About the house and area: From best reckoning, the building was erected in 1878 (based on a search of old New York Times articles--the original property records were destroyed when the City Hall burned a long time ago). There are many small cafes and several stores nearby, including a mall. The PATH is in walking distance. A branch of the city free library is a block and a half away. There is a laundry on the corner, about 25 feet away, but there will be a washer and dryer in the kitchen. (The pictures shown are before remodeling. I'll post new ones when remod is done.) Available by mid-September after some remodeling, currently going on. There's a lot of refreshing that needs to be done (everything looks ugly while the work is going on, but if the area and the place's potential interest you, you're welcome to register your interest). The rooms in front have hardwood floors, a window air conditioner, electronic locks on the door leading to the hallway, and gas-fired hydronic baseboard heating. There is an electronic lock with silent alarm on the main entrance to the building. You would have shared access to the door-bell camera via your cell phone. There will be pictures as the work is completed. There are no finder's or agent's fees. If you sign a lease while work is still going on, the rent is $2200 per month.
About me: I research care options for severely developmentally disabled adults. I have my Bachelor's in Engineering from Stevens, and my MBA from Wharton. My wife is here often (but she has responsibilities that require her to be elsewhere many times). She works with me on the same projects. She has her Bachelor's in Liberal Arts from Penn State. I am also here often, but need to travel elsewhere as well. We are quiet. We don't smoke.
