We are a non-smoking, pet-free building. There are 3 steps up to a deck to enter apartment #2. Once inside, there is a beautiful lake view through a full bank of windows. This sparkling clean, remodeled apartment is a comfortable mix of new and old, located on the second floor, overlooking the lake, and is approximately 600 sq ft. It has been fully refreshed with easy-care mixed-gray and silver Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring in all rooms. The apartment is bright and cheerful with plenty of daylight. When you open the many windows, there is often a nice breeze, which flows through the apartment. There are window air conditioning units. There are multiple trees surrounding the area. We are NOT a big complex with tons of people. You will be on a first name, friendly basis with the owners! The apartment has two bedrooms, one bath; a large living room/dining combo, bathroom with tub/shower with very large linen closet. There is a roomy and efficiently laid-out galley kitchen with stainless steel refrigerator and stove, lots of storage, and a beautiful view of the lake. There are closets or cupboards in every room. Most of the rooms are blessed with windows overlooking the lake. The apartment is on the second floor. There is one flight of stairs from the front parking lot, but in back, there are only 3 steps coming up from the back parking lot to the back entry deck. This "farm-house-comfortable" building is a former schoolhouse built in 1889 and has 4 apartments of various sizes which all are unique from each other. It is situated in a residential district in the Village of Caledonia on a street which ends into the stunningly beautiful Lakeside County Park. The apartment building is within a short stroll to Emmons Lake, a wild, stream-fed fishing lake on which you can Kayak or wade (in the park); and the gorgeous, very well-equipped park has multiple playgrounds, ball diamonds, lake frontage, stream, and access to the wonderful 10-mile-long paved Paul Henry-Thornapple Trail to walk, bike, or rollerblade through woods and farmland. You can walk all the way around the lake, too, on a partially paved and partially wild trail. The trail leads to the library and shopping. From the apartment, walk, bike, or golf-cart to the snack shop/ice cream store, restaurants, and hair salon. Drive a short distance to more snack shops, grocery store, Dollar General, pharmacies, multiple places to eat at quick-stop or sit-down restaurants. There is a hardware store, car dealership and more. Within 15 minutes or less are Davenport University, Amazon Warehouse, and Ford Airport. M-6 is nearby with easy access to I-96 and US 131.
