This lease is somewhat flexible but runs through Colorado Springs' busy season, making this home a real stand-out for Summer Fun! This will be a great place to get started in Colorado Springs while you shop for your dream home or perfect neighborhood area for long-term living of your choice. Old Colorado city has classic Victorian and Eduardian homes as well as homes from the 1950s and today. It's a bustling, but quiet, area to walk and enjoy the scenery and many pubs and activities nearby. Relax in the backyard under the flowering crabapple tree while you enjoy a beverage from the nearby Farmer's Market. Two upstairs bedrooms allow easy access for a comfortable home office, perfect guest bath and typical large patio bedroom from the era. The kitchen appliances, high R-value insualtion, new furnace, water heater, electrical, radon system plus asbestos safety checks make this classic safe and snug for everyone. Caution should be taken with younger children as lead paint has probably been used at some point. Landlord takes no responsibility for unknown sources. Water filters abound for delicious Colorado water and the house has been professionally sealed for weather and other intrusions. The upgraded kitchen and bath shine with new features. Plumbing is upgraded so all the guts of this adorable home support the charm of the original design, the beauty of the site and the health of inhabitants. The garden has been upgraded to showcase Colorado's incredible flower and plant possibilities. It isn't recommended to have outdoor cats due to possible predators. There is a full bed in a spacious master bedroom with balcony, as well as a parlor area, dining room, deep storage closets, office, porch and many windows and natural light. An evaporative cooler and window Air are provided for the rather few days of heat in the area. Overall, this little gem has many usable spaces and is untainted in its original design, leaving many places to work, relax and live, within the historic building. Neighbors are friendly but due to proximity, mostly keep to themselves. Gardening is popular in the area, filled with families, singles, elderly long-time residents, and some Airbnbs. It is very walkable and is generally considered a more artistic and liberal area of Colorado Springs. This home is also close to Red Rocks Open Space and Garden of the Gods. You might not want to live in OCC forever but it would definitely be great to live here for a month or three while you find your perfect permanent home.

About the building

This adorable miners bungalow has been really updated for comfort and will be offered as a temporary sublet for some lucky travelers while I travel this summer. Only leases between 1-3 months will be considered. Though petite, the high ceilings lend a feeling of spaciousness to the classic Eduardian layout from 1910. Watch passersby from your office workspace during this fun season in Old Colorado City. The home is being subdivided with two apartments and a dog may be present in the fenced yard while the basement apartment is completed. Dogs may not use the back yard. This upper story townhouse is in easy walking distance to one of the most historic places in Colorado, rich in the history of the Gold Rush, brothels, the wild west and historical landmarks. You can't help but feel the history around you in this quiet, central neigborhood. The house is walking distance to farmers' markets in the summer and many attractions year-round. Use Pike Ride to e-bike the city or simply enjoy walking in the Garden of the Gods. Many guests try the Manitou Incline and drink water from natural fountains in nearby Manitou Springs. The area abounds with nature, food and entertainment. Going west, we are close to I-25 with easy access to a vibrant downtown scene featuring the Olympic Committee and Colorado College. Enjoy a relaxing and historic getaway for a couples retreat, a work and play, or simply to enjoy the feeling of how it was to live here in the early 1900s. With a mix of modern and vintage, this place cant be beat!
