About the building

Casa Taormina- Furnished Mid-Term Rental in Old Bisbee In the heart of Old Bisbee, yet tucked away and private, Casa Taormina is within easy walking distance to cafes, restaurants, galleries, shops and local attractions, offering both convenience and a sense of retreat. Originally a 1918 miner's shack, this small historic home has been carefully restored and reimagined over the years by a longtime Bisbee resident, artist, and educator who raised three children here and has lived in Bisbee for nearly 30 years. The home embodies the artistic, eclectic spirit of Bisbee, with handmade artwork, collected pieces, and touches inspired by the owner's Italian family roots and connection to the Sicilian town of Taormina, a place that has long reminded her of Bisbee. Cathedral ceilings, restored architectural elements, custom tile work, books, plants, and handcrafted features give the house warmth and personality, while modern updates- including electrical, plumbing, insulation, Anderson windows, and efficient heating and AC- make it comfortable for everyday living. For more than 13 years, the home has hosted guests through short-term rentals with consistent strong reviews, "Super Host" status, and many returning visitors. The owner is now moving toward a slower pace of hosting, with a preference for longer and mid-term stays that allow guests to settle in and experience Bisbee more like a local than a tourist, while also offering a more affordable alternative during a time when housing can be difficult to find. The owner lives nearby in a separate home on the hillside and is available if needed while fully respecting guest privacy. Guests are often welcomed with homemade Italian cookies and small touches that reflect the spirit of the home. The rental itself is a fully detached private house with its own yard, patios, and private parking located directly adjacent to the yard. Inside, the home includes a fully stocked kitchen, a dining table made from a restored 1920s door, comfortable lounge spaces, reliable Wi-Fi, Smart TV, and a clawfoot tub with an overhead shower and curtain ring for everyday shower use. Large windows and outdoor seating areas offer mountain and canyon views, along with glimpses toward Mexico. Located in the heart of historic Bisbee, the house is close to cafes, restaurants, music, galleries, and local events while still feeling tucked away and private. As with much of Old Bisbee, weekend music and town activity can often be heard in the distance (Bisbee is an awesome place for live music). Convenient to Copper Queen Hospital, making it especially well suited for traveling healthcare professionals. Also ideal for remote workers, relocation stays, seasonal visitors, retirees, writers, and people looking for a more personal and authentic place to stay for a month or longer. Available July 9 through mid-October, then full availability beginning in December (some fall dates may also be available- please inquire). For longer stays, periodically scheduled cleanings are required to help care for and maintain the home. Cleaning frequency and fee can be discussed based on length of stay.
