Clayton offers 27 miles of mostly paved trails and approximately 515 acres of open space. A paved trail is located just a few houses down the street that takes you to downtown Clayton for restaurants, concerts in the Grove, frozen yogurt, and more. The Regency entrance to Mt. Diablo State Park is a 1 mile walk on a mostly paved trail, or traveling 1 mile in the other direction, will take you to Black Diamond Regional Preserve. Once inside Mt. Diablo State Park, hiking and mountain biking options that are limitless, with over 100 trails and multiple peaks ranging from 2,369 feet to the summit of Mt. Diablo at 3,849 feet.
