About the building

This is a premium property, a 1-minute walk from the beach, and a 4-5 minute drive from the Navy's Silver Strand Training Complex!… Being next to YMCA Camp Surf means you have dune views from the house and ocean views from the rooftop deck. The property, 197 Carnation Avenue, is bright and sunny and has lots of windows. It has an "upside-down" floor plan that takes maximum advantage of the marvelous ocean and wetland vistas from the second floor. The living room, kitchen, and dining room are all upstairs and open into one large space, where the views can be enjoyed to the fullest. The open living room has expansive views and a corner window with areas to sit, as well as a kiva fireplace. The house has three bedrooms: one large master bedroom upstairs with ocean views, a walk-in closet, and a huge skylight. The two downstairs bedrooms are smaller and have regular-sized closets. There is one bathroom downstairs and one bathroom upstairs attached to the master bedroom. The upstairs bathroom has a bathtub with whirlpool jets. The kitchen is open and has a terrace directly off of it, perfect for outdoor dining or hanging out. A Wolf cooktop and stainless steel appliances (fridge, dishwasher) makes cooking easy! There is a staircase to a small rooftop deck where you can see the ocean waves! A spiral staircase connects upstais and downstairs. There is an office area downstairs with extensive built-in bookshelves and cabinets, located just off the entrance to the house. All bedrooms have ceiling fans. The house does NOT have air conditioning, as the proximity to the beach and ocean breezes makes it unnecessary. There are washer/dryer hookups. There will be a washer and a dryer in the house, but if they need to be repaired, that will be up to the tenant, we will not repair or replace them. Outside, there are lots of outdoor living spaces: the rooftop deck, the terrace off the kitchen, and a covered patio off of the laundry room, opening to the small back yard with a mature hibiscus tree that is always in bloom. There is a hot-water outdoor shower, perfect for rinsing off after being at the beach. A one-car garage can fit a medium-sized car, or can be used for storage or a home gym, among other things. The driveway can accommodate two cars, one behind the other. Street parking is readily available, too.
