In the upstairs, you'll find a modern, open-concept living and dining area with brand-new furnishings as well as a beautiful kitchen fully stocked with cookware and dinnerware for making meals at home or entertaining. Down the central hall, sleeping accommodations for up to five guests upstairs include: a primary suite (King-sized bed) with cathedral ceiling, gas fireplace, built-in desk and cabinetry with French doors opening onto patio and master bath with natural stone countertops, jetted tub, walk-in closet and access to Zen garden outdoor shower; a guest suite (queen-sized bed) with wall-to-wall views of the outdoors, a private bathroom and separate entrances from the deck and driveway; and a bright office space with a twin-sized day bed and full guest bath across the hall (also handy for guest use). Below the large deck, on ground level, you enter through french doors to a spacious and bright additional garden apartment. The inviting main living space is furnished with a couch and a flat-screen TV, and also has a modern dining area, well-lit desk space and stocked kitchenette. This apartment has one bedroom (queen-sized bed), a full bathroom, wine cellar, and a multipurpose room. GUEST ACCESS Guests have full use of the whole property, including the main deck and back patio as well as a rooftop terrace accessible via a spiral staircase. Both the upstairs kitchen and garden apartment kitchenette are fully stocked with cookware, dinnerware, utensils and stemware for your use. Both also have a dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave and toaster. There is a small washer/dryer in the upstairs hall closet and a full sized washer and dryer downstairs (accessed through a separate entrance on the ground level). THE NEIGHBORHOOD Beautiful Portola Valley is located in the heart of the Silicon Valley: 10 minutes from I-280, 12 minutes from Sandhill Road and 15 minutes from Stanford University. Palo Alto, Woodside, Menlo Park, Mountain View and Los Altos are also right nearby, as well as San Francisco (45 min) and San Jose (30 min). The town itself is known for its picturesque and abundant natural setting with rolling hills, hidden ponds and mountain views a peaceful, gorgeous retreat, conveniently close to the amenities and attractions of the Peninsula. You'll also have access to Portola Valley's world-class trails, horseback riding, cycling, local restaurants, cafes and markets. Day trips: Portola Valley is an hour from Santa Cruz, 90 minutes from the Monterey Peninsula, Carmel and Big Sur and two hours from Napa/Sonoma.
