Welcome to the Carriage House in the Druid Hills neighborhood, a mile from downtown Hendersonville and 25 minutes south of Asheville. It is ideal for one person with a dine-in kitchen, spacious living room, modern bathroom and cozy bedroom. Enjoy the sunny deck and porch swing. Walk to Patton Park (greenway) or bike to the Acusta Trail. Thirty minutes from waterfalls, hiking and mountain biking in Dupont and Pisgah forests. The space has been newly renovated over the last year with an eye to keeping some of its historic coziness. With a new Mitsubishi mini split A/C system the cottage is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. As a cottage in the back of our property, it boasts trees, birdlife and a beautiful cottage garden - yet it's close to several restaurants and only a mile from our charming downtown, which each fall boasts the Hendersonville Apple Festival. Being in Hendersonville it's also close to some of the best hiking and mountain biking in the Southeast - just 30 minutes to DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest. Downtown Asheville and Brevard are also just 30 minutes in either direction. The cottage itself is renovated with new appliances in the retro kitchen. The apartment is fully furnished in a clean comfortable modern design. The kitchen is stocked with a quality cooking equipment and a stove. The bedroom has a Queen sized bed. Double doors lead from the living room to the porch (wonderful on summer evenings) and the sunny deck is a great spot for morning coffee. The Carriage House is your own for the duration of your stay. All appliances and equipment are available for your use. You are welcome to browse and read the books (largely novels and interior design-related).
