Large ( 1000 ft^2), gorgeous, 1st-floor east-side flat.… Remodeled in 2018: ceramic tile flooring in kitchen, bathroom, shower, new cabinets, granite countertops, new stainless steel ("matte" finish) appliances, restored original bathtub. One large bedroom and one tiny one, which might work better as a guest/baby bedroom or office. (Small bedroom does have massive, external, walk-in closet, so plenty of storage overall.) Perfect layout for a couple, although non-couple roommates have also managed just fine in the past. Full-sized dining room & living room. Free laundry on-site. Best neighborhood in town, between Brady and North, near lakefront. Walk to everything, and near bus lines. Original, hardwood floors throughout. Backyard with native prairie plants; rain barrels to collect water, compost pile. Garden space available, if interested. Well insulated (reasonable heating bills). One of largest residential, solar energy (PV) installations in City of Milwaukee (tenant still pays for utilities, but can feel good about contributing clean energy to grid). No cigarette smokers or dogs; cats ok. Basement storage available. House built in 1893 - lots of character and classic features. No off-street parking, unfortunately. Street parking is abundant though, and is never an issue. Clean water! (Lead pipes from City main to house have been replaced with copper.) Longer-term, environmentally conscious tenants preferred. Tenant responsible for snow shoveling tiny sidewalk & steps and mowing tiny front lawn in the summer. Address is 1608 E. Lafayette Pl.
