Open and spacious, family-friendly house on the south side of Lake Mitchell has private frontage and a shallow, sandy bottom, perfect for all ages. Fenced yard, fire pit, and beach area are Lakeside, and a huge "back" yard is perfect for lawn games. Snowmobile trails, skiing, and public land are all nearby. A 4k TV with cable and streaming is provided. Lake Fun: Lake Mitchell and Cadillac provide year-round fun. Some of the best ice-fishing is right outside our house. We are about 10 - 15 minutes from Caberfae and just a few minutes from snow-mobile trails. Fall provides a beautiful view with evergreens providing a backdrop for beautiful, colorful fall foliage framing the lake. Both Fall and Spring allow for great fishing with cooler water temps. And of course, summers can't be beat. The shore is shallow, with a solid sandy bottom, allowing even small children to enjoy the lake. There is a beach area, and we provide plenty of sand toys. Paddle boards, lake toys / floats / mats are also included. There is a hammock for afternoon naps. And the fire pit is perfect for s'mores at sunset. Outside: Idlewind is the perfect family retreat. There are trees on both side for privacy, and 50 feet of sandy-bottom frontage. There are toys and games, such as corn hole, Kan Jam, and sand toys. There is a fire pit with seating. You can use the firewood stocked on the side of the house or, in the rare event I run out, more is available for sale nearby. We offer both a charcoal grill and a wood pellet grill. In the "back yard", there is a large grassy area perfect for lawn games. You will find that there is plenty of space for your friends and family to park, play, relax, eat, and sleep. Inside: On the first floor, there are two dining areas and three separate living areas. One bedroom / living area and the main dining area overlook the lake. There is a 4K TV with cable and Netflix. There are instructions for everything in a welcome binder. The kitchen was updated in September 2018 and is fully stocked. It has a nice cook top and double oven. You can easily make Thanksgiving dinner for a large family! There are also two portable griddles perfect for pancakes and bacon. We include coffee, creamer, sugar, a variety of tea, and hot cocoa. The refrigerator has a ton of condiments, salad dressings, jam, and maple syrup. The spice cabinet has salt, pepper, rubs, and other seasonings. Just bring your perishables! You are welcome to any other staples in the cabinets (olive oil, balsamic vinegar, oatmeal, pancake mix), but we can't guarantee there will be anything there! There are plenty of bathing towels (brand new in Sept. 2018), as well as a laundry room. The downstairs bathroom is large, and includes a tub. The upstairs has an additional door at the top of the stairs - perfect for those that want to go to bed early or sleep in while others are having fun downstairs! There is a small bathroom with a stand-up shower at the end of the hall. There are four bedrooms upstairs. The mermaid room is small, and perfect for a little girl, but we have also put our grown adult friends in there. It has a beautiful lake view! Across from the mermaid room is a good-sized room with a queen bed. This room also has extra linens in the cabinet. In one closet are a box fan, extra pillows and sheets. In the other are two twin memory foam mattresses. The twin mattresses can fit in any of the other bedrooms except the mermaid room. The master bedroom has a beautiful view of the lake, and is spacious. The last bedroom upstairs has two twin beds. All bedrooms except the mermaid room have ceiling fans. Seasonal Note: The dock and boat lifts are typically removed mid-September and put in the water mid-May. With advance notice it may be possible to install or remove these sooner or later. Boat lifts are stored in the "back yard" towards the road and the dock is stacked in a corner of the fenced lake yard. We are mindful to keep these items out of the way of our guests and their view!
