Local legend has it, Henry Flagler designed both buildings. By the beginning of the 1900s, it become an apartment building with 4 units. It remained an apartment building for many years and at one point even received a facelift. During the late 1950s and early 1960s, the architecture was changed from Victorian to Spanish Colonial style. In 2008, its new owner/builder and architect Donald A Crichlow completely re-envisioned it as a single family Spanish Victorian home. The house was rebuilt with meticulous care with no expense spared. New systems were added resulting in a new "old" house. The extensive woodwork was custom designed and milled from local cypress by true artisans.
