Furnished or Unfurnished room for rent Sept. 1st in a 1100 sq. ft.… 2-bedroom, 1.5 bathroom suite in a low-rise building in the heart of Fairfield. We are 3 blocks from Cook St. Village and an 8-minute walk to Ross Bay or Clover Point.Looking for a quiet, proactively clean female to share the space with two gentle black cats (sister & brother: one curious keen kitty, one big timid fluffball). As we already have two pets, we will not take an additional pet roommate. I work remotely and need to maintain a quiet, focused atmosphere during the day during the two weeks I'm home.The Unique Arrangement: My partner lives in Ontario and I'm there for two weeks a month. This means you will have the entire apartment to yourself for half the month! My son has been doing the daily kitty-care routine when I am away, but is leaving for university in Sept. Rent is normally $1500/month, but discounted to $1200/month in direct exchange for this care. I am ideally looking for a veterinary student or similar who will appreciate having two chill furballs around! I'd be willing to discount to $1100 if you would drive my car to drop me off/pick me up from the airport.The Routine (made easy with automatic feeders/litter box):Daily: Administer asthma puffer (1 cat; training provided - it's not hard), dry food 2x/day, wet food 1x/day.Weekly: Remove the bag from the automatic litter box & take to the on-site garbage.Suite Amenities:Room can be furnished or unfurnished (the rest of the suite is fully furnished; some storage available if needed)1.5 bath(ish): main bathroom shower/toilet is shared, but I have my own sink off my bedroomAll utilities included: Heat, hydro, hot water & high-speed internet Telus TV streaming - can create a profile for you if desiredFully equipped kitchen (Dishwasher, Microwave w/ toaster oven drawer, Air fryer, etc.)Air conditioner, Air purifier, and HumidifierCarpeted (minus kitchen/bathroom)Balcony gardenCleaning supplies/equipment includedBuilding Amenities:Parking (included)Secure entrance & secure bike roomAccessible building w/ elevatorCoin laundry on siteDirect bus Route 7 from Fairfield to UVic / Camosun (no transfers!)Quiet building with amazing neighbours (quiet enjoyment only)Fun stuff: We frequently see deer, and in the spring peahens & their 'chickpeas' go by! There are 3 pairs of hummingbirds that feed at ours and a few neighbours' balconies; we've set up the feeders in the window to be an amazing 'viewer' for the buzzing by!To set expectations, vetting will be thorough with references required - bonus for creative additions to your application. The main goal is to have a kind, caring and clean person share our space and take care of our fur family. Term is 8-months (to April 30th), then month-to-month, with 30 days notice to vacate.
