Kilkare Woods is enveloped by 8,000-acre Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park managed by EBRPD. Access to the trailhead is around 200 feet away and trailhead access is exclusively for the residents of the Kilkare Woods. A secondary (unmarked) trailhead into the park is only 10 feet from the property. Simply a wonderful location if you enjoy nature, hiking or mountain biking. THE HOUSE: Relatively small but with a large living room, one medium-sized bedroom. one small bedroom, a bonus room, dining area, a bathroom, and a laundry room with energy efficient washer and dryer. The bonus room is counted as a "third bedroom." It is actually detached 10 feet away from the house in the rear. The bonus room is sheltered by a steel structure that supports a wood deck above it. The room is often used as an office or as a bedroom. All rooms have wood/laminate flooring. The kitchen is equipped with an old fashioned looking but modern stove (Heartland), french door style refrigerator with a freezer drawer, dishwasher, and a microwave oven. There is a central heating and cooling system. There are excellent views of trees from all around. A garden pond with a waterfall is in full view from the dining area. There is a back-up battery system (Tesla) for electricity needs in the event of power outage. Location: The property is a short distance off the end of a 3.5-mile Kilkare Road that starts in downtown Sunol and runs through a thickly-forested canyon. Sinbad Creek runs along the entire road. The community pool and clubhouse, 1/2 mile away, are available to the renters for free. Sunol has a highly acclaimed K-8 school (Sunol Glen). Easy access to freeway 680 (four miles away with only two stop lights between the freeway and the property). A location that seems far away from the hustle-bustle of urban living, yet close to many things that Bay Area has to offer.
